If you are gearing up for the Cambridge IGCSE Physics 0625, the most important thing to know is that the 2026–2028 syllabus is stable. Following the major updates in 2023, Cambridge has confirmed there are no significant changes affecting teaching for this cycle.

This means that any textbooks or resources endorsed for the syllabus from 2023 onwards remain fully valid for your exams through 2028.

What’s in the Current Syllabus?

To succeed, you must be comfortable with the topics added during the 2023–2025 update, as these are now permanent parts of the 0625 exam:

Key Content Added:

  • Space Physics

  • Absolute scale of temperature

  • Electromagnetic spectrum

  • Use of the kilowatt-hour

 Topics Removed :

  • Digital electronics

  • Gas laws

  • Measurement of temperature (liquid-in-glass thermometers)

  •  Thermal capacity

Master the Core Content

The Physics journey is divided into five main themes. Mastery of these is essential for a top grade:

  • Motion, forces, and energy: The foundation of all physics.

  • Thermal physics: Heat transfer and particle theory.

  • Waves: Light, sound, and the electromagnetic spectrum.

  • Electricity and magnetism: Circuits and electromagnetic effects.

  • Nuclear physics: Atomic structure and radioactivity.

  • Space physics: The newest addition to the curriculum.

Why Students Struggle

It is rarely the Physics itself; it is usually the technique:

  1. Mathematical Errors: Losing easy marks by not rearranging equations correctly or forgetting units.

  2. Command Words: Not understanding the difference between "Describe" and "Explain".

  3. Graph Skills: Poor plotting or misinterpreting the gradient and area under a graph.

How to Nail 0625

  • Use Topical Questions: Finish a chapter and immediately solve the topical questions by Shahzad Zia to master that specific area.

  • Memorize Formulas: Create a formula sheet and practice until you can derive them in your sleep.

  • Analyze Mark Schemes: Use our Yearly Past Papers with provided mark schemes to see exactly what examiners want.

The 2026–2028 syllabus holds no surprises. The content is stable which means your only variable is how well you prepare. What separates A and A* students from the rest is not talent. It's structured, targeted practice done consistently. Everything you need topicals, yearly papers, and exam-focused notes aligned with the 0625 syllabus is available at studentsresource.net.

👉 Choose your paper, start practicing the right way, and make that A or A* your reality.
